Often, a data-sharing project doesn’t come to an attorney’s attention until the attorney is asked to draft or review a data sharing agreement. By then, the project proponents are invested in the project’s success, making it difficult to then advise them that the law does not permit sharing the data. But might it? Could you help recraft the data sharing plan to fit within the constraints of the law? Using the resource, Pathways to Yes: A legal framework for achieving data sharing for health, well-being, and equity, recently released by the Network for Public Health Law and Data Across Sectors for Health (DASH), Network attorneys will present strategies for navigating away from a data-sharing culture of “no, you can’t” and toward one of “yes, we can.” This webinar compliments an earlier webinar designed for data-sharing project managers and advocates who want to understand the legal framework around data sharing in order to work effectively with attorneys to develop data sharing plans.

- explore approaches for working within the law when the law doesn’t necessarily work for you
- obtain strategies for effectively collaborating with data-sharing project proponents
